I was thinking about a friend the other day, and how much he’s changed in the past couple of years I’ve known him. I’ve always considered him someone shy and reserved, quite innocent, a little bit playful maybe. But now he has become so much more open and bold, he’s become more determined and he has his ambitions and goals. It’s interesting to see how much someone can change and grow in a short time.
It made me ponder about how much I’ve really changed in the past couple of years. Maybe I’ve grown physically, emotionally, some of my skills have developed, some of them have died off from disuse. But deep down, I don’t think I’ve changed much. I still get a thrill from playing in the rain, I still daydream, I still like candy, I still like cuddling. I have a lot of little fantasies, I’m still quite a kid actually.
I guess we all go through changes in our environment, we take a few lessons from life and ultimately, we adapt. But the question that really intrigues me is this; deep down inside, do we really change?
I saw this photo from icanread, and I see a certain kind of truth in it, so I decided to post it.
We never really grow up;
We only learn how to act in public.
How about you? Have you changed much?
